Swardeston Day Centre

Swardeston Day Centre (formally the Edith Cavell Day Centre) has been operating for more than 30 years, providing a welcome and social environment for older people to meet. We provide a hot cooked lunch and light refreshments throughout the day. Our two managers work tirelessly to arrange a wealth of activities including quizzes, guest speakers, light exercise and a monthly church service. We have volunteer drivers who may be able to provide transport to and from the centre. We would love you to join us.

LITTLE LADYBIRDS STAY & PLAY

Little Ladybirds runs every Thursday morning, 9.30am- 12pm at Swardeston Village hall (NR14 8DL) even throughout the school holidays!
£3 for first child, £2 for siblings, Under 6 months, and adults free
What does Little Ladybirds Stay and Play sessions involve?…
Our sessions are aimed at under 5 year olds and their parent/carers. There will be toys and activities for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers
It’s all about free play for the the little ones and helping parents create support networks!
Each week there will always be a craft table, a messy play table, sensory area, reading corner and water or sand play. As well as a range of toys and stations out for you and your child to explore.
We will also use some outside space too to get some fresh air!
Refreshments for bigs and littles will be on offer free of charge (drinks, biscuits & children’s snacks) … we all know how needed that coffee in the morning is, and how important it is to keep the little ones fuelled to stop any hangry moments! I just ask for donations towards the cakes and ‘yummy treats’ that I bake to help towards costs for baking the following week.

SWARDESTON CRICKET CLUB

www.swardestoncc.co.uk

Swardeston Cricket Club is now one of the country’s leading recreational cricket clubs. The club has been playing on Swardeston Common since 1965 and was instrumental in extending the village hall to build the social club and changing rooms in the mid 1970s.
Swardeston CC can trace its history back over 160 years and now runs four Saturday sides, a Sunday team and a thriving youth section with teams at Under-19, Under-15, Under-13, Under-11 and Under-9 level.

We also have an active and growing women and girls section.

Swardeston is one of a number of clubs in Norfolk to have achieved the ECB’s ClubMark accreditation. Clubmark is Sport England’s national accreditation scheme for high quality community sports clubs and stands for higher standards of welfare, equity, coaching and management. We run weekly youth cricket sessions during the summer and offer high quality coaching to all children that attend. As well as this, the club runs weekly net sessions for its adult members.
