Welcome to

Swardeston Village Hall

Easy to find and away from the hustle and bustle of the city!

This fine village hall is in the heart of South Norfolk, just 4 miles south of Norwich on the B1113. The building is ideal for every occasion, large or small. We have a main hall with fitted kitchen and a smaller social room, it is a flexible space for a variety of use: exercise classes, dance classes, children’s parties, meetings or hobby groups, or a large village event. Stunning views of the common and a children’s playground to the rear of the hall make this the perfect place to hold your event.

The building is licensed for both live and recorded music and has a traditional sprung dance floor and a licensed bar. The Village Hall holds up to 120 people, the Social Area up to 60 people. Ample tables and chairs are available and there is an adequate kitchen for own catering.

The village of Swardeston is a place of great beauty with plenty of lovely walks in and around the village, with links to the Tas Valley Way. It is also the birthplace and then home of Edith Cavell, a British Nurse who is celebrated for saving lives of soldiers and in helping some 200 Allied soldiers escape from German-occupied Belgium during the First World War. Much of this history is displayed at St Mary’s Church, Swardeston.

We are also home to the much acclaimed “Swardeston Cricket Club”, one of East Anglia’s leading clubs and the first in the country to do the national club double by winning the Royal London Club Championship at Lords and the Vitality Club T20 at Derbyshire CCC.
